The Best Comic Conventions In London
Being a geek in London has a lot going for it.
There are a vast amount of arcades, random free talks from all kinds of industries, and some great hidden comic book shops.
On top of this, it has some of the best Comic Conventions in the United Kingdom. Below are just a few you should check out, whether you’re a Londoner or fancy visiting for the day!
5. London Comic Mart
When: February, March, May, June, July, August, October, December
Where: Russell Square
If you collect comics, pop figurines or other merchandise, then this is the ultimate place to go.
London Comic Mart has dates throughout the year, so keep checking to see if there is a date you can do.
London Comic Mart has both long-running popular series, right through to tiny indie ventures, so if you are a true comic fan, then this is the one for you.

4. London Anime and Gaming Con
When: February and July
Where: Rocket Complex
LAGC is probably the most chilled out convention we have attended.
This convention takes place in a Student Union bar and has a lovely outdoor seating area. It’s pretty much a “Grab a pint and relax” atmosphere.
The convention also features two stages packed with talks and demonstrations from cosplayers, artists and beyond.
3. Hyper Japan
When: July and November
Where: Olympia
Hyper Japan is a celebration of all things Japanese!
There are some stalls full of Manga and Anime, exquisite food shops and all the flavoured Kit Kats money can buy!
Hyper Japan happens twice a year, In the summer and winter, which is perfect for a spot of gift shopping.
2. London Film and Comic-Con
When: July
Where: Olympia
Run by the Showmasters group (the team behind Sherlocked, Collectomania and more), this convention is the one to go to if you love Celebrities.
The hall is stacked full of fantastic photo opportunities and consistently pulls in some pretty big names. Members of Monty Python, to the stars of the DC universe, Time travellers from Doctor Who and even Stan Lee have posed with fans at the convention!

1. MCM Comic-Con London
When: May and October
Where: Excel Centre
MCM Comic-Con London is the biggest convention in the UK. It’s the UK’s version of San Diego Comic-Con.
There’s a great balance of celebrities, merchandise, artists and cosplayers, all bundled into the Excel centre. If you want to go big, this is the one to attend.
